visionary — Belgin Aksoy — a woman on a mission to make the world a healthier, happier
place.
Belgin has a story that I believe everyone needs to hear. Many times we have a little voice inside
of us, but how many times do we listen, and even more- take action?
After 27 years in the tourism + hotel world , Belgin founded Global Wellness Day in 2012 —
now celebrated in over 170 countries! With the motto “One day can change your whole life!”,
millions join each year to reconnect, recharge, and realign — all through free, wellness-focused
events
She’s also behind Richmond Nua Wellness Spa, Turkey’s first destination spa and one of
Europe’s top wellness spots.

About Belgin
Belgin Aksoy is a woman on a mission: having worked in the tourism and hotel industry for 27
years she has dedicated her life to create a physically, mentally and spiritually better world. To
that end, in 2012 she founded the internationally successful “Global Wellness Day”. Millions of
people from over 170 countries participated in the social project that focuses on shifting people’s
awareness towards living a healthier life.
Belgin founded Richmond Nua Wellness Spa, Turkey’s first destination spa and one of Europe’s
best equipped and award winning spas. She is a Member of the Board at Aksoy Group and
Creative Director of Richmond Hotels.
Turkish wellness pioneer Belgin Aksoy supports health foundations, leads social wellness
projects and speaks at international spa and wellness organizations. As the founder and initiator
of Global Wellness Day, she intends to bring her vision to the world. With the slogan “One day,
can change your whole life!” GWD is celebrated across the globe in tens of thousands of
locations by millions of people only with complimentary activities on the second Saturday of
June every year.

In 2016, Global Wellness Institute awarded her with “Leading Woman in Wellness”, the most
prestigious award in the wellness-spa industry reaching up to an economic growth of 4.7 trillion

dollars. She has also been deemed to deserve “Most Influential Spa Leader” award by
American Spa in the same year. In 2019, Belgin Aksoy was selected as the first non-French
person to receive the “Personality of the Year” award by La Fédération des Professionnels du
Bien-ētre. In 2022, Aksoy received the “Pioneer of Wellness” award and in 2023 received
the “Commitment to Excellence in Health & Wellbeing” award by Seven Stars Luxury
Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards. Belgin Aksoy was also listed among the “Top 30 Influencers
Transforming Wellness” by Medika Life, representing Turkey.
